Training

Western Washington Merchant Patrol, Inc. recognizes the need and importance of training. Training begins immediately with the hiring of each new officer.

By developing well-designed, professionally executed training programs we are able to help produce knowledgeable and motivated employees. This results in a lower turnover, less absenteeism, and higher standards of performance than most of our competitors in the industry.

WWMP’s training programs include:

  • Security Officer Basic Training Course
  • On-the-Job Training (OJT) for Security Officers specific to the site assigned
  • Annual Refresher Training and In-Service Training
  • Specialized Training Workbooks for specific clients
  • Supervision Workshop
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED

Company F.T.O.'s (Field Training Officers) are highly trained and knowledgeable officers that instruct new officers by On the Job Training (OJT). This includes site orientation; working required hours or shifts with new Officers and ensuring that each new officer knows what is required to perform the job adequately, professionally and safely.

Our company has State and Manufacture Certified Instructors in the following areas: firearms, air taser, O.C. (pepper spray), handcuffing and patrol.

A majority of WWMP, Inc.’s Administrative supervisors have completed the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission Program. This is the current requirement for Reserve Police Officers in Washington. This course is 240+ hours of police academy training.
